We don’t believe this feature can carry its weight so we are declining this..
A way to achieve this though, is bookmarking an OQP link that has your preferred translation open. However, we have changed the default english translation from Shakir to Yusuf Ali (with commentary).

Hopefully in the next release (OQP2), the user have the opportunity to choose between different font styles ( http://www.ahmedgraf.com/quranic_fonts.html ) and ( http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&item_id=ArabicFonts ) for the Al-Quran Arabic text. As fare as other RTL languages (Farsi, Urdu..) this ticket is still under review.
If YOU know of any other typefaces and fonts that supports Unicode for Arabic/Urdu/Farsi please post a comment on this thread. A request have been made on ’nasta’liq font’ but with no future information on where to get the font.
- UPDATE -
Postponed to OQP3 so OQP2 can be released earlier.

Indo-Pak script is very useful indeed. Is it possible to make CHOOSE which font you want to use for the arabic? Something like tanzil.info, so you would have to manually type the name of the font (already installed on your pc) you want to use. This is - i think - very easy to implement. Please consider this.
On tanzil.info this is possible: display options > font > custom >
And i would appreciate it if you could do the same for Urdu (nastaliq). So the users would just type the font they want, and it will be used, very simple yet effective. In the link below i have uploaded two types of fonts you can use: (1) Pak-Indo Quran Fonts (2) Nastaliq Fonts. I numbered them from what i think are the best, i.e. #1 is the best, #2 is slightly less. For the Nastaliq Fonts there isnt much difference between them, and they should all work fine. The Pak-Indo Quran Fonts however, not all of them work well with the different types of "zabar", "zer", "pesh" etc: http://www.mediafire.com/?gizeqmgz5ym
Wow that was amazing, so fast!
Amazing, and amazing site brother. Keep it up!
